2:00pm – Presque Isle Electric & Gas Co-op line crews have restored electricity to 13,300 services since yesterday after severe winds early Christmas Eve knocked out power to a predicted 20,000 services. Approximately 7,000 members are still without power today but crews, contractors and office personnel will continue efforts today and over the weekend to safely restore power as quickly as possible.
Due to the severity of line damage and number of broken poles, some members will be without power for several days and should make necessary arrangements. Members are cautioned to stay away from downed power lines and report them immediately to PIE&G at 1 (800) 423-6634.
