PIE&G has received a few calls from members reporting they received a suspicious automated phone call stating “This is your utility (or power) company. You have overpaid on your gas and electric bill. Please press one so that we can verify and process your refund check.”
This is a scam! If you receive a similar call, hang up immediately. Do not press any button commands. PIE&G does not call members regarding over payments or refunds. Any credit balances will be reflected in writing on your billing statement that you receive by mail or electronic notification.
