Line crews worked late last night and resumed work early this morning after heavy, wet snow and high winds knocked trees and branches down onto power lines, causing a significant number power outages yesterday. PIE&G has now restored all but 556 services as of this morning. Almost 500 of those open outages are located along Cordwood Point north of Cheboygan.
Forecasters are calling for another day of wind, snow and rain in northeast Michigan, which could create additional new outages. Please contact PIE&G immediately at (800) 423-6634 to report power outages or any downed power lines. Assume downed lines are energized and dangerous. Stay at least 25 feet away from any downed wires and report them immediately to PIE&G, 911 or local law enforcement.
