PIE&G has contracted with Kent Power (Rockford, MI) to provide Make Ready Construction services. Make Ready Construction is the movement or rearrangement of communications or power assets currently on the poles that will be used by PIE&G’s new broadband network, PIE&G Connect. Make Ready Construction is expected to begin in late September in the Onaway area.
In addition, PIE&G has also contracted with B&M Ashman Inc. (Canton, MI) to provide fiber installation and splicing services for PIE&G Connect. Their work will begin later this year starting in the Onaway area.
If you see these crews working, please drive with caution in their work zones, and know that they are performing the groundwork tasks, on PIE&G’s behalf, to bring high speed internet to our local community. Photos of the Kent Power crews are shown above.
