NEW! Will the president’s announcement of federal funding reduce the amount or shorten the length of time the $20/month emergency storm recovery fee will last?

The emergency storm recovery fee is currently needed to cover interest on the Emergency Line of Credit used to pay for storm recovery costs. At this time, it is unclear how much state or federal disaster assistance PIE&G will receive, and any funding could take a year or more to arrive.

 

If FEMA or other disaster funding is later approved for these costs, the amounts paid by members will be applied as required under federal guidelines. Until then, the twenty-dollar per month emergency storm recovery fee is necessary to meet ongoing interest obligations.

PIE&G will continue to keep members informed as we learn more about potential state or federal support and how any funding will be applied.
